DIY inlay mirror – 2 ways
I’ve been really excited to share this DIY inlay mirror with you! I mentioned my love of them and the inspiration for the mirror in my last post. I made this one for Izzy’s room. There is still some work that needs to be done before the room is checked off the list, but…
large framed art | tutorial
I’m still working on pulling Sam’s big boy room together. I had been on the look out for a large piece of art to put over his bed, but kept coming up empty handed. Not that I wasn’t finding anything, there’s plenty, but everything I loved was way more than I wanted to spend. So,…

random dining room progress
I randomly started in on a project in the dining room the other day. I had planned on doing it at some point, just not that day. I walked in and stared at the piano for a couple of minutes, and then returned with a piece of sand paper. Before I knew it the piano was…

I didn’t intend to, but I am dubbing this week Pillow Week! Today I’m sharing the tutorial for how I made my ribbon trimmed outdoor pillows for the back patio, and later this week I’ve got another fun pillow project to share. Ok, so here are the pillows I created for out on the back…
back patio re-do
There was this time a year and a half ago when I thought our back patio was finished. You can see the reveal here. Box checked. Moving on. Then our dog ate the furniture. Like, there was a huge hole through the arm of the outdoor sofa. Oh, and he ate the rug as well….
3 month baby photos – DIY
I know I told you I was going to post the tutorial for the monogrammed shams today, but I ended up waiting until the last minute and it just didn’t happen. Tutorials take me a lot of time to put together and I didn’t want to half ass it. Hopefully, you’ll forgive me! Instead, you’re…

NewestHi Shelley, I saw your (gorgeous) chair at Remodelaholic and came over to check out your blog. I love it – just became a follower! You have such fun ideas and I love your home decorating style! (And a very cute munchkin to boot!) -Lisa
Great guest post! I've been obsessed with your chair since the first time I saw it! Great job! Quick question, where did you get your curtains? They look like a fabric I was looking at last night on fabric.com in green, but just wanted to check to see if that's how big the print really is. I love them!
Congrats on your guest post. I love what you did with that chair. Now I just have to find me an old ugly chair.
I love your slipcover chair and your blog. I am your newest follower, I found you thru Remodelholic:)
Hi Shelley! You're getting an award on my blog today! Check it out 😉
Thanks so much for getting back to me! I just did a post on curtains and included a link back to you! I might just go for it! Did you line yours or is that just the straight fabric and how they fall? I'm just in love with the look of yours!
Hi Shelley – I've been wanting to redo my husbands High Back recliner for a while now…I've had the fabric for almost a year. (LOL) Thanks so much for your guest post over at Remodaholic…can you tell me – if you were making a slip cover for the recliner style – would you have made the back portion end at the arm rest so the chair could recline and make the arm portions seperate or what would you have done? I haven't sewn much but with your tutorial…think I might be able to attempt this. Please email me kritterblogdesigns (at) gmail (dot) com – and share your thoughts. THANKS!
You=homecoming queen! So happy for you Mrs. Crafty ninja Shelley Jones Westerman.
Cassity isn't the only one who wants that chair! It's exactly what I've been looking for to go in my nursery. Great job! New follower.
Hi- I posted this on the Remodelaholic blog but I'm reposting it here too.
Wow, you did such a great job! And how fun to guest post on Remodelaholic!!! I recently did a similar wing chair slipcover but I didn't do as good a job on the arms as you did. I did a pleat on the skirt too but I sewed it with velcro to be removeable for washing (because it doesn't get very dirty and I didn't want to re-iron it every time.) Check mine out here: http://www.honeybearlane.com/2011/03/my-wing-chair-slipcover-reveal.html
I need to check this out…fun to guest post over there!!!
