A couple of changes have been made to the living room since you’ve last seen it and I thought they were worth sharing. I always think little changes can be just as powerful as larger ones.

Rug

I’ll admit I am in a strange business. Part of my job is creating videos or shooting photos for companies to use for their products. Due to that I get to try out different items in my home more regularly than I normally would. When this rug arrived I was smitten. Beautiful taupe color, wool material, gorgeous texture, incredible softness, and it’s washable. Smaller sizes can actually go in the washing machine, but this one spot cleans like a boss. For example, I shot video of a red wine spill and you guys – the stain straight up disappeared with water and mild dish soap. I’m hooked.

Couch Pillows

The age old fight between husband and wife about there being too many pillows on the couch? My husband gave up on that one years ago. Lately, I was feeling over stimulated when I looked at our couch. I’m craving simplicity right now. I decided to put up all the throw pillows, bring back the lumbar pillows that came with the couch, and added just one decorative lumbar. Freaking love the look! Funny how that one change lightened up the entire living room.

Faux Black Olive Tree

This tree, you guys!!! I actually got this a while back, but haven’t shared it on the blog yet. You’ve no doubt all seen the rise of the real Black Olive trees, aka Shady Lady. They have these little delicate leaves and horizontal branches, and the real ones are EXPENSIVE. Companies started making faux versions, but they never looked great, or the good looking ones were even more expensive than the real versions. UNTIL NOW! This one looks exactly like the real deal, my husband thought it was real for months until I told him otherwise, and the price is much nicer. I love her so much. She makes my living room look extra fancy.
