I’m excited to share with you guys something I was recently introduced to that has truly changed how I look at beauty products.  Stayed turned because there’s a giveaway at the end!

Let me start off by saying I am not a super healthy eater, nor am I a healthy product crazed consumer.  I have the best of intentions, but dang it, it’s hard.  I want the best for my kids though so a few years ago our family made a decision to purchase only organic milk, meats, fruits, and veggies.  Most recently we switched over to organic breads and pastas.  My husband and I wanted to make sure that whatever our kids were putting into their mouths wasn’t going to harm them now or several years down the road.  I want to spray them down with bug spray so they don’t get eaten alive, but I want to make sure it’s not harmful to the kids in the process.  I switched over to dryer balls instead of fabric softener because my daughter has such sensitive skin like I do.  You know how it is, you do anything for your babies.

But, what about us?

I buy hair, makeup, and skincare products without a second thought.  I honestly NEVER thought anything of it.  I was then introduced to Beautycounter, and it made me pause and give thought to those products.  Check out this beautiful video below.

I didn’t know that a huge number of the chemicals used in the skin care and beauty industry don’t have safety data available.  I didn’t know that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), who regulates cosmetics in the United States, ALLOWS companies to make their own judgments about the chemicals in their products that are known to be extremely harmful.  Products that we put on our bodies and our children’s bodies every single day.  That’s why I am truly loving Beautycounter’s mission to get better, safer products in the hands of consumers and their commitment to their Never List, a list of 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals that are never used in their products.

I just tried their Countertime Collection for rejuvenating skin and fighting the signs of aging, and was really impressed!  My first thought was how there wasn’t a perfume like fragrance, it just smelled clean and fresh.  The face wash was AMAZING.  Really.  It removed all of my makeup, even every last bit of eyeliner and mascara… with one round.  I normally use bar soap and then a facial cleanser to get everything off.  And I don’t wear much makeup!  The Radiance Serum and Day Cream made my makeup go on nice and smooth, and I can see how the Eye Perfector is one of their best sellers.  My next purchase is going to be their Kid’s Bath Collection for Izzy and Sam.  
They have a number of great products for every member in your family, including some Holiday Gift sets that would be perfect for anyone!  Here’s what has caught my eye.

    I would be interested in trying their Dew Skin Tinted Moisturizer. I have yet to find a tinted moisturizer w/ SPF that didn't feel oily on my skin, so I'm always on the lookout for new products to try and see if they fit my needs.
