4th of July Front Porch

I love the 4th of July.  All the beautiful American Flags everywhere just make me happy.  For whatever reason, I have never decorated our front porch for the 4th until this year.  I wanted something simple that I could easily toss up and take back down.  And since I’m such a last minute gal, everything I used was found on Amazon.  For all of you that want to put a little something up but haven’t got started yet, this one’s for you!

Door Hanging

This door hanging doesn’t get any easier to recreate.  So simple, but I love it so much!!!  Three 8″x12″ flags are held together with a rubber band and the sticks are sitting in some bubble wrapping at the bottom of the bag to keep them in place.  This market tote is really versatile with the two different length straps.  It looked cute hanging from the smaller straps too, but I didn’t want the peep-hole covered, so I hung it from the longer straps.

In other news, my DIY doormat is still going strong!

Even before I started decorating, I knew I wanted to incorporate some American flag buntings.  I’ve always loved the look.  These nylon flag buntings are nice and big at 58″x27″, have embroidered stars, and are made well to last several years.  I still can’t decide if I should leave them where they are or move them to the inside of the corbels.  Hmm…  You’ll have to look at this photo and the following one and let me know.  UPDATE:  I ended up moving the buntings more to the inside of the porch so you can see the corbels from the front and it looks so much better!

Add More Flags

We have our large American Flag out year round, but decided to add a few more smaller ones along the entrance to make it even more festive.

And don’t stop there because you can also add them to your ride!!  I wish I had a photo from last year when we decorated our bikes for the neighborhood 4th of July Bike Parade.  It was all decked out and looking super cute!

So that’s our simple 4th of July porch that was pulled together in about 20 minutes in the rain 😀  What’s your favorite way to decorate for the 4th?

Thank you, Cassie! I love my bike so much!! I got it for Mother’s Day last year and am always on that thing with the kids. Felt weird to get on one at first after not riding since I was a kid. So fun though!

Beautiful. Are you doing a fall refresh? If so, can’t wait to see.
